2012 nes iPhone 5′s Uneven LTE Support Will Alter the Competitive Landscape for Mobile Operators

Apple officially launched the iPhone 5 on Wednesday, and although most of the featured were the same as the rumors, it is still highly anticipated among Apple fans.

The new smartphone features many different terms and Latinos Post will help break down the terms ahead of its Sept. 21 release.Screen/Retina Display: The iPhone 5′s speculated 4-inch screen has been confirmed. The screen sees an increase of 3.5-inches from the iPhone 4S of 0.5-inches.

The addition of the Retina Display continues from other, yet, latest Apple products. Retina Display applies to devices and monitors that have a very high a resolution and pixel density – approximately 300 or more ppi. Other Apple products with Retina Display include the iPad 3, MacBook Pro notebooks, and the predecessor iPhone 4S.

Apple’s newest iPhone model features several new features over the iPhone 4S. The most obvious of these is the larger 4 inch screen. All previous iPhone models sported a 3.5 inch display. This new display is essentially an elongated screen version of previous iPhone displays; providing additional height with no additional width and a 1,136 x 640 resolution (16:9 aspect ratio). The screen also features in-cell technology which works to minimise the distance between the user and the display screen and also helps reduce the thickness of the device.

The new iPhone is also the first iPhone to feature 4G LTE connectivity, and unlike the iPad, the faster connectivity is not limited to US networks. The new iPhone can connect to 4G networks that operate in several bands and is compatible with many but not all LTE networks in the UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, other South East Asian markets.
