Not so long ago, Huawei teased us with their full HD Android tablet, the MediaPad 10 FHD. Now they tell us the 10.1″ Android tablet with a custom quad core CPUand Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will ship globally this September. Before you get too excited, remember that Huawei usually works through carriers in the US, so we expect this HSPA+ and LTE 4G tablet will launch with a carrier sometime later . That said, Huawei states that there will also be 3G and WiFi only versions.
The Tablet PC looks very compelling with a 1920 x 1200 IPS display, Dolby 5.1 sound and a K3v2 Cortex-A9 1.4GHz quad core CPU with a 16 core GPU. It has a 6600 mAh hour battery and an optional keyboard dock, much like the Asus Transformer. The dock allows for VGA and HDMI out as well as Ethernet via a USB adapter.
The tablet has an aluminum body that’s 0.34″ thick and it weighs 1.28 pounds. It has a front 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear 8 megapixel camera that can shoot 1080p video.
The HUAWEI MediaPad 10 FHD WiFi version is now available in china electronics, and will begin shipping to Germany, Sweden, Russia, Belarus, Korea, Bahrain, and Kuwait in September, with other markets to follow
